NHBC and Bellway welcome Paul Sweeney MSP to quality development of new homes in Glasgow

NHBC, the UK’s leading independent provider of warranty and insurance for new-build homes, and Bellway, one of Britain’s biggest house builders, welcomed Paul Sweeney MSP to a development of top-quality new homes in Glasgow recently.

Mr Sweeney visited the development in Ashlar Village at Ruchill in his capacity as MSP for Glasgow and learned about the latest construction methods, while meeting some of the site team. The tour included visiting some of the completed homes and seeing others under construction.

Ashlar Village is a great example of brownfield redevelopment, the site having previously been occupied by Ruchill Hospital. A suggestion made by Mr Sweeney, to name one of the streets ‘Radiography Road’, was enacted by Bellway, a nod to the site’s previous use.

Paul Sweeney MSP commented, “It was a pleasure to visit Ashlar Village at the former Ruchill Hospital to tour the new homes built by Bellway and learn about NHBC’s role in ensuring high standards in the construction industry. It’s great to see quality new homes under construction in Glasgow and I was particularly pleased to see the A-Listed hospital water tower, a historic landmark on Glasgow’s skyline, has been retained at the heart of the development.”
