Register a new site

If you are registering a new site with us for warranty and insurance cover, please complete a Site Notification and Initial Notice (SNIN) form.

Submitting a SNIN

Please submit your SNIN form as far in advance of starting work on site as possible but at the latest:

Standard, non-hazardous sites: 4 weeks before start date

Hazardous or non-traditional sites: 8 weeks before start date

You can submit a SNIN form to NHBC, in the following ways:

My NHBC Portal: From your organisation home page, select "Add new site" or by selecting "Upload organisation documents"

Post: To NHBC House, Davy Avenue, Knowlhill, Milton Keynes, Bucks, MK5 8FP.

What happens next?

Step 1 We’ll process your SNIN form and generate a site reference number

Step 2 We will ask you to complete a Product Plot Schedule about the plots you’d like to register for warranty

Step 3 We will register your plots and issue you with a formal quote for Buildmark cover

Step 4 Once you have paid for Buildmark cover, we will send you confirmation of your policy number(s)

Step 5 We will send you a link to our Conveyancer Portal, along with activation codes for each plot that you can pass on to your home buyers’ legal representative

Reg 16E: Intended commencement of work declaration

If you are requesting NHBC Building Control Services, you are also required to submit an Intended commencement of work declaration along with your SNIN form.

7 storeys or more?

If your project is 7 storeys or above or exceeding 18 metres (whichever is reached first), or a scheme that has been deemed high risk then we class them as a Major Project, and you need to complete and submit our Major Projects Application Form.
