Support for policymakers
NHBC is the UK’s leading independent provider of warranty and insurance for new homes. We are uniquely placed as an independent organisation working with the house-building industry while also providing protection for over 1.5 million policyholders through our 10-year Buildmark policy which covers 70-80% of new homes built in the UK.
The Corporate and External Affairs team works closely with stakeholders and policymakers in Westminster, the Devolved Assemblies and the European Union.
Thanks to our independence, and with over 80 years' experience in the house-building industry, we are well-placed to provide advice and assistance on housing matters.

Data on house-building
NHBC statistics represent a unique source of detailed up-to-date information on new home construction and the house-building industry. We are the official supplier of housing statistics to Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government and the only source of data which breaks down housing registrations to constituency level.
NHBC figures are available well ahead of Government figures, and some can even be provided on a daily basis. Our figures relate to new homes registered with NHBC for its 10-year warranty, which covers around 70-80% of all new homes built in the UK.
