Introducing your Sector Lead for Affordable Housing

Charlie’s role as Sector Lead for Affordable Housing, part of NHBC’s Alternative Residential team, focuses on managing relationships with housing associations, their contractors and other sector stakeholders. This consists of early-stage engagement with clients on their projects, taking a partnership approach to help de-risk development and supporting the delivery of high-quality, long-term assets.  

As well as acting as a central point for clients to liaise with internal departments, Charlie also works to bring contacts together to grow networks and facilitate wider professional relationships within the sector. 

Charlie was promoted to her current role from Customer Relationship Executive, also in the Alternative Residential team. This position saw her supporting the relationship management of NHBC traditional builder customers as well as a sector focus on Build to Rent, housing associations, local authority engagement and retirement living. Prior to obtaining this role, Charlie worked in NHBC’s Customer Service department for three years. During her time in Customer Service, she developed a wide knowledge base and demonstrated many valuable attributes and was promoted to Assistant Team Leader within a year and a half of joining the business. 

Prior to NHBC, Charlie worked for the Travis Perkins Group completing a Fast Track Management programme. Following completion of this, she secured a role within the group as a civils and drainage Category Pricing Manger for Keyline. Before that, Charlie spent seven years working for Marks & Spencer, which she joined while still studying, progressing through the ranks to become a Section Manager.
