Apprenticeship
Construction Site Supervisor

Jasmine previously worked for six months as a construction site administrative assistant before starting her apprenticeship.

“I have enjoyed learning about the house-building processes. It’s filled so many gaps I had in my knowledge and it’s good to now be able to walk around the site being able to apply this new knowledge in reality.

I would recommend an NHBC apprenticeship as it is very informative and interesting. The courses have been well structured and are kept up to date with the latest developments in the construction industry. It is also good to be taught from the perspective of the NHBC and the standards they look for as this will certainly be beneficial to site management and could even save us a lot of costs and time in the future.

The tutors have been very helpful with sharing their knowledge from their careers as inspectors and have given us all many good tips of frequent issues that can come up during construction and things to keep an eye on.

The apprenticeship will certainly help me in my future career as I am being taught essential technical information and with regards to management. It’s given me a solid knowledge base which I can work from.

"For anyone considering a construction apprenticeship, I’d say just go for it."

The industry is so interesting, diverse and friendly with so many opportunities and so much to learn. There is a lot of job satisfaction, in particular for me the teamwork, progress and sense of achievement. It’s a very creative sector and I will always be proud of the buildings I have had the opportunity to be a part of.”
