Job Summary

If you're an experienced carpenter with a passion for the trade and an eye for quality, why not use your skills to inspire the next generation? As a Site Carpentry Technician, you’ll bring practical training to life for our apprentices — supporting their learning journey and helping build a stronger future for housebuilding.

What you’ll be doing

  • Managing tools, timber, PPE and consumables — ensuring training sessions run smoothly and materials are always ready, within budget.

  • Supporting the Senior Trainer with tuition delivery, helping learners engage with hands-on tasks and lesson plans.

  • Stepping in to lead practical training sessions when needed — sharing your expert knowledge from real site experience.

  • Building demonstration models and example structures to guide and inspire apprentices.

  • Keeping learner progress up to date on our digital reporting platform, aligned with ESFA and Ofsted standards.

What we’re looking for

  • Practical experience in carpentry (and ideally, some knowledge of brickwork or groundworks too).

  • Strong hands-on experience in the housebuilding sector — you know your way around a live site.

  • An understanding of safeguarding and creating a safe learning environment for apprentices.

  • Ability to read and work from construction drawings.

  • Comfortable updating records and tracking learner progress to the required standard.

Education and Qualifications

  • Level 2 Carpentry qualification (or equivalent)

  • First Aid at Work (or willing to gain this)

  • Full UK driving licence

What we offer

Our benefits package includes:

  • 27 days annual leave + bank holidays
  • holiday purchase scheme
  • enhanced pension scheme (up to 10.5%)
  • life assurance
  • subsidised private medical insurance
  • employee discounts platform
  • two days volunteer leave
  • enhanced maternity, paternity, adoption leave and pay for all new parents

+ many more!
